Pooley’s Demise: Kurt Okraku is not feeling well, that’s why he hasn’t reached out, He would have been the first person to arrive in Kumasi – Oduro Sarfo

Nana Oduro Sarfo, a member of the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Executive Council (EXCO), has clarified that Kurt Okraku’s absence from recent football events is due to illness.

Okraku has come under fire for his continued silence following the tragic events in Nsoatre and the death of Francis Frimpong (Nana Pooley), an Asante Kotoko supporter.

Oduro Sarfo said the 54-year-old is not deliberately inactive.

At the meeting between Kotoko’s management  and the Ghana League Clubs Association and the GFA earlier on Tuesday, February 11, he said,

“Kurt Okraku is currently unwell, and out of the country, which has prevented him from commenting on the tragic event.”

“He would have been the first person to visit the camp of Kotoko. When he’s fit and arrives in the country safely, he will be here (to meet Kotoko).”

At the Nana Koromansah II Stadium on matchday 19 of the Ghana Premier League, Pooley was stabbed during the match between Nsoatreman FC and Kotoko.

As they pursue justice for the departed, the Porcupine Warriors have presently withdrawn from all athletic events.
