NPP Members Demand Reshuffle in Dome-Kwabenya After Election Loss

A group of concerned New Patriotic Party (NPP) members in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency are calling for a reshuffle of the party’s leadership in the area, citing executive failures as the main reason for their loss in the 2024 general elections.

According to Alhaji Ibrahim Frimpong, Convenor for the Concerned NPP Members of Dome-Kwabenya, the party’s executives are to blame for their defeat. He alleged that the executives engaged in manipulations, sabotage, and incompetence, which ultimately led to their loss ¹.

Frimpong specifically mentioned that the parliamentary candidate, Lawyer Michael Oquaye Jnr, was complacent and refused to reconcile with other party members after the primaries. This, he believes, contributed significantly to their loss.

The concerned NPP members are now urging the National Executives to intervene and ensure that things are done properly to help them regain their seat in the next four years.

This development comes after the NPP lost the Dome-Kwabenya seat to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections. The seat was previously held by Adwoa Safo, who was unseated by Oquaye Jnr in the NPP primaries.

The Electoral Commission had earlier suspended the declaration of the Dome-Kwabenya parliamentary results due to disputes between the NPP and NDC.
