190 Years of Spreading the Word: Methodist Church Ghana Reaches Historic Milestone

The Methodist Church Ghana, a revered institution in Ghana’s religious landscape, has launched its 190th anniversary today, marking a significant milestone for the Church. The celebrations, which took place at the Bethany Methodist Church in Dzorwulu, had numerous members, including pastors and bishops, to celebrate the occasion.

The momentous occasion, which coincided with the first Sunday of the year, drew hundreds of congregants, dignitaries, and well-wishers from across the country.

The atmosphere was filled with joy, gratitude, and reflections on the church’s rich history. In a keynote address by the Most Reverend Prof. Johnson K. Asamoah-Gyadu (Presiding Bishop for Methodist Church Ghana), he emphasized that corruption is a major obstacle to economic stability in the country.
He expressed his fervent wish and prayers that religious and civil leaders would renounce corrupt practices, enabling the nation to progress.
Additionally, most Rev’d Gyadu viewed the 190th anniversary celebration as an opportunity to challenge the government to utilize the country’s resources for the benefit of its citizens. Furthermore, he said the anniversary is not just a celebration of past achievements but also a testament to the unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel and serving the communities.

As the church embarks on this momentous journey, its members and leadership remain steadfast in their dedication to sharing God’s love and promoting the values of faith, hope, and charity.
