Ghanaians Have Little Tolerance for Bad Governance- John Mahama, President-Elect

John Dramani Mahama, Ghana’s President-elect for the next four years, emphasized during his victory speech, following the declaration of the presidential results, that Ghanaians have little tolerance for bad governance.

According to him, Ghanaians are willing to take decisive action at critical moments when it matters most. For all of Ghana’s historical undertones, this mandate represents many things for all political actors and those who seek to lead our country. He said

Furthermore, he stressed that the mandate entrusted to him and the NDC serves as a constant reminder of the consequences they may face if they fail to meet the nation’s aspirations

He acknowledged that such shortcomings could leave a lasting mark on the collective psyche of Ghanaians, an indelible mark that could take years to erase.

We must never forget that the people of Ghana have chosen us to represent their wishes and best interests. My brothers and sisters, there is much to do to save our country and reset it.

It is for this reason we would be initiating important governance reforms and sometimes initiating severe measures in the next four years to reset our nation and bring it back on track as the black stars of Africa.” He remarked.

In conclusion, he emphasized the workload ahead and solicited the help of all citizens to contribute their quota to the total growth development of the nation.
