Ejura Farms Encroachment : Ejurahene Barimah Osei Hwedie II Secures Historic Victory for Ejura Divisional Council
The Chief of Ejura Divisional Council, Barimah Osei Hwedie II, has achieved a landmark success for his residents by reclaiming properties on the erstwhile Ejura Farms.
The Ejura Divisional Council was on the brink of losing the vast land and properties due to expired leases and encroachment.
However, thanks to Barimah Osei Hwedie II’s intervention, President Akuffo Addo has directed the handover of the properties to the council.
The Ejura Farms, formerly known as American Farms, were taken over by the Ghanaian government in 1958.
The lease on the land expired in 2018, allowing encroachers to take over. Some individuals even attempted to sell portions of the farm, prompting Barimah Osei Hwedie II to take action.
After persistent follow-ups by the Ejurahene, President Akuffo Addo instructed the State Interest and Governance Authority to officially hand over the farms to the Ejura Divisional Council.
This achievement has earned Barimah Osei Hwedie II widespread admiration for his commitment to Ejura’s development.
