NPP’s Free SHS Policy: A Game-Changer for Ghanaian Diaspora – NPP Canada Organiser
While campaigning in the Western Region , as the December polls approach, Yakubu Alhassan, Organizer for Canada branch NPP, is sharing his personal story of how the party’s Free Senior High School (SHS) policy has transformed his life and the lives of many others in the Ghanaian diaspora.
According to Yakubu Alhassan, during the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration, the diaspora community struggled to save money and return home to visit their families. The burden of paying family members’ school fees was a significant financial strain, making it difficult for many to afford the trip.
However, since the NPP introduced the Free SHS policy in 2017, Yakubu says that things have changed dramatically. With the financial burden of school fees lifted, he can now save money and return home to visit his family without worrying about sending money for school fees.
The Free SHS policy has been a cornerstone of President Akufo-Addo’s administration, aimed at removing financial barriers to secondary education in Ghana. By covering the full cost of secondary education for all eligible students, the policy has significantly expanded access to schooling for children from all walks of life.
Yakubu’s story is just one of many examples of how the Free SHS policy is transforming lives. The policy has already impacted over 5.7 million lives in Ghana, according to President Akufo-Addo.
As the December polls approach, Yakubu is calling on Ghanaians to vote NPP and help sustain the Free SHS policy. He believes that this policy is crucial to the country’s development and that it’s essential to continue supporting it.
By sharing his personal story, Yakubu hopes to inspire others to support the NPP and its policies, which he believes are critical to Ghana’s progress and development.
