Over 500 students stranded as contractor locks classrooms of school building at Galilea over non-payment of debt by Getfund
At Galilea M/A Basic in the Ga South municipality, more than 500 teachers and pupils are stuck when a contractor locks down the classroom due to Getfund’s nonpayment of obligations.
According to a report filed by Mireku Nyapong on Kessben FM’s Breaking News, in 2017, Geos Anointing Construction Limited received a contract from GETFUND to construct a six-unit classroom complex at Galilea Basic School with offices.
He claimed that although the project was finished in 2018, the administrators of Gut Funds had not reimbursed him for his money since then.
The contractor also stated that while his debt has not been paid, Ga South Municipal GES began using the facility since 2018.
Because of this, the contractor stormed the school this morning, sacked the teachers and kids who were using the space, and locked it down, leaving the pupils trapped.
