NAPO Inspires Initiatives Leads Successful Market Connect and Voter Education Exercise at Texpo Market

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, the Greater Accra Chapter of NAPO Inspires Initiatives, a youth-focused initiative of the NPP, carried out a successful market connect campaign and voter education exercise at Texpo Market in the Tema West constituency.

The initiative aimed to canvass support for the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and the Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency, Dennis Amfo-Sefah.

The campaign focused on educating market women about proper voting practices to reduce ballot rejections, including:

  • Correct thumb placement on ballot papers.
  • Proper folding of ballot sheets to avoid ink smudges.
  • Ensuring votes remain valid and accounted for.

In addition to voter education, the campaign highlighted the impact of the Free Senior High School (SHS) Policy, introduced in 2017 by the NPP, which has significantly benefited many families. The market women praised the policy and pledged their support for Dr. Bawumia to ensure its continuation.

The NAPO Inspires team also shared Dr. Bawumia’s vision for supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), particularly women traders. Key proposals included:

  • A Flat Tax Regime for easier tax compliance.
  • A Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund (WoTEF) to provide loans and grants to female entrepreneurs.
  • Plans to establish an SME Bank to support businesses and create jobs.

The market connect and voter education exercise concluded with an enthusiastic response from the market women, who expressed overwhelming support for Dr. Bawumia and Dennis Amfo-Sefah.

Their confidence in the NPP’s leadership reaffirmed the party’s stronghold in the Tema West constituency, emphasizing the growing connection between NAPO Inspires and grassroots communities as Ghana approaches the December 7, 2024 elections.
