Wisconsin Int. Uni. celebrates 17th Congregation with new programmes in Nursing and Midwifery
The President of Wisconsin International University College Ghana, Professor Obeng Mireku has announced that the school have successfully introduced new Masters programmes in Nursing and IT namely MSc Nursing, Mphil in Midwifery, Msc Cyber Security, Msc IT, MSc Business Computing.
According to him, the University has served over 5,500 in students programmes like BSc General Nursing, Public Health Nursing, Midwifery as plans are for advance for the commencement of Master of Public Health ( MPH), Master of Science in Public Health Nursing (Msc Health) and Master of Philosophy in Public Health (Mphil Public Health)
Speaking at the, 17th Congregation Ceremony in Accra under the theme ” Securing Tomorrow: The Role of Artifical Intelligence, the President of Wisconsin International University College Ghana, Professor Obeng Mireku disclosed that the University is graduating a total of 1728 students comprising of 1464 students for Accra campus and 264 students for Kumasi campus which is made up of 16 Diploma students, 1617 undergraduate
students and 95 post graduate degree students.
“The 16 Diploma students are 4 females representing 25% and 12 males representing 75%he said, adding that the undergraduate students comprises of 1243 females representing (76.87%) and 374 males representing ( 23.13%).
He further hinted that 60 of the students from the Law Faculty have been called to the Bar during the recent induction ceremony by the organised by the Ghana Bar Association saying 129 of the students also passed the entrance examination in to the Ghana Law School and explained their enrollment ties in to the University vision of nurturing capable forward thinking leaders.
Turning the spotlight on Artificial Intelligence (AI), Prof. Obeng Mireku said AI is making giant strides in the academic space and said the university have embraced changes by integrating AI in the school curriculum to ensure that students are not just consumers of technology but creators and Innovators to enable them shape the future and real world challenges.
He however urged students to demonstrate the University virtues and values as well as distinguish,
themselves as ambassadors in their respective working endeavours.
For his part, the Chancellor of Wisconsin International University College Ghana, Dr. Paul Kofi Fynn urged graduands to think outside the box since the college is blazing the trail with new programmes been introduced, adding that the University is stocked with state- of -the art facilities to enable students be abreast with emerging trends in education.
