Bawumia Promises Digital Training for 5000 Youths In Manhyia South—Nana Baffuor Awuah
Nana Adjei Baffuor Awuah, the parliamentary candidate for Manhyia South has stated that 5,000 youths from his constituency will be involved in digitalization training if Dr. Bawumia becomes president.
According to him, Bawumia’s plan to train the youth aligns with his own initiative to equip the younger generation with skills to grow and fit into the digital world.
Over the past five months, since he replaced Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, he has been working on this initiative.
Furthermore, he added that last week, 4,000 people in Manhyia South received training in various vocational and industrial fields.
These fields include painting, CCTV camera installation, beautification, and wig making, among others, which he believes will increase the employment rate in the economy.
He expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia’s digitalization agenda will significantly reduce unemployment, citing a reduction in Ghana’s unemployment rate to 4.7% during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration.
“Our policies have created jobs and reduced the unemployment rate. This training initiative will further empower people with skills to secure employment,” he explained.
In addition, Awuah praised former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s efforts in creating employment opportunities between 2001 and 2008, describing that period as a high point for Ghana’s workforce.
However, he criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to deliver on their promises.
“NDC members make false claims and fail to solve problems. They pretend to improve policies initiated by the NPP. How can they assure us they will follow suit?” Awuah questioned.
He cited examples such as introducing the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the current free education policies.
Moreover, he refuted allegations made by Fiifi Quartey, the former Minister for Food and Agriculture, who falsely accused former President Kuffour of stealing all of Ghana’s gold from the Bank of Ghana.
“These propaganda statements were retracted during vetting, proving they were baseless,” Awuah noted.
Finally, he added that governance is about the people, so Ghanaians should vote for someone who thinks about the future.
