Bawumia’s Credibility Is A Call for 8 More Years – Thomas Owusu Ansah

Thomas Owusu Ansah, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South East, has expressed his concerns about recent allegations and criticisms targeting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its government.

Speaking on The Punch Kessben Election Avenue with Lawyer Gyan, he noted that the NPP’s achievements are being undermined by misinformation and deliberate attempts to disrupt the government’s progress. But despite all these, he described Dr Bawumia as a man of credibility, wisdom, and unparalleled knowledge, asserting that he is the ideal candidate to lead Ghana for the next eight years.

According to him, it has been three months since certain investigations began, but some individuals continue to use these issues as grounds to attack the NPP. He believes this is part of a broader agenda to tarnish the party’s image and sow discord among the public.

He pointed to illegal mining, commonly referred to as “galamsey,” as one of the avenues used by critics to defame the government. These detractors, he said, are also trying to obstruct parliamentary proceedings by engaging in various disruptive tactics. “All these actions are intended to hinder national progress under the NPP government and to create dislike for the part”.

He highlighted several achievements of the NPP government, particularly in education, agriculture, and infrastructure development. He stated that, due to Bawumia’s credibility, wisdom and the knowledge he possessed he should be given the chance to lead the nation in the next 8 years.

He noted that over 5 million children have gained access to education through policies implemented by the NPP. “These children are benefiting immensely from our initiatives”.

In agriculture, he mentioned that farmers, especially cocoa farmers, are reaping benefits. “A bag of cocoa now costs GHS 3000, which is equivalent to the price of 34 bags of cement. This demonstrates how much the government values the efforts of farmers”.

Moreover, on infrastructure, he stated that several roads in the Ashanti Region have been constructed under the NPP. He also cited the introduction of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP), which he believes has significantly boosted the local economy. “Although some individuals are looking for faults with this policy, the benefits are undeniable,” he added.

He concluded by highlighting the impact of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the Ghana Card initiative. “The NHIS has made quality healthcare accessible to millions, while the Ghana Card has helped eliminate ghost names from government payrolls and other fraudulent activities”.
