Hon Nii Amasah Declares Current Parliament as the Best in Ghana’s History

Hon Nii Amasah Namoale, a former member of parliament and a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), boldly declared that the current parliament is the best Ghana has ever seen.

Moreover, responding to a question about the speaker’s performance, which some have criticized as the worst in Ghana’s history, Hon Nii Amasah defended the current parliament.

Moreover, he emphasized that since the inception of Ghana’s democracy in 1992, this parliament stands out as the best.

He attributed this to the crucial compromises and collaborations between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP), which have ensured the smooth running of state affairs.

Furthermore, Hon Nii Amasah dismissed any claims that this parliament is the worst, labelling such opinions as ignorant. He argued that without this parliament, Ghanaians would have faced severe challenges.

In addition, he praised the parliament for serving Ghana well under the leadership of Speaker Bagbin, who he credited with saving Ghana’s democracy.

Hon Nii Amasah highlighted the speaker’s educational efforts and clearances, which have greatly benefited the parliament.

Despite the criticisms, he cautioned that those unaware of the speaker’s contributions might be misled by partisan biases into believing that this parliament is the worst.

He also mentioned that Afenyo Markin should respect the speaker’s decision, claiming that the speaker has effectively managed the issue of vacant seats in parliament very well.
Hon Nii added Speaker Bagbin has been unbiased even though he is an NDC.

He stated that according to the official report, the NDC holds the majority, and this should be respected.

In the end, Hon Nii Amasah explained the meticulous documentation of parliamentary proceedings, which confirms the NDC’s majority status.
