Ghanaians are Rallying Behind Dr. Bawumia’s Vision for Economic Transformation – Nana Agyei

Speaking on the Kessben Maakye, Nana Agyei, a member of the Ashanti Regional Communication Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), stated that Ghanaians are in support of Dr. Bawumia’s Vision for Economic Transformation.

He said that the clergy, traditional leaders, civil society organizations (CSOs), Islamic leaders, and all other stakeholders have welcomed Dr. Bawumia’s vision.” He pointed out that “his vision covers all sectors of the economy.”

He noted that “businessmen were interviewed after the launch of the NPP’s 2024 manifesto to assess the vision, particularly regarding the promotion of local businesses. They all agreed the vision resonates with them and will bring great relief.”

He stated that “when the NPP assumed power in 2017, there were a lot of middlemen extracting money from businesses at the port. However, with the introduction of the paperless system, this problem has been significantly curbed.”

Nana Agyei further explained that according to Dr. Bawumia’s vision, he plans to introduce a flat-rate system, which will ease the burden on importers.

In addition, import duties will be charged in cedis, which will help to reduce the dominance of the dollar over the cedi, thus stabilizing the cedi’s depreciation.”

Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia has expressed his vision to establish a Women’s Empowerment Fund, which will provide market women with easier access to loans.

According to Nana Agyei, “this fund is designed to support women engaged in petty trading, enabling them to be empowered economically.”

Dr. Bawumia’s vision also includes the youth. Nana Agyei noted that “under the Mahama-led administration in 2016, there was a high rate of unemployment.

In contrast, Dr. Bawumia’s plan includes training 1,000,000 youth in digital skills, with a focus on robotics and app development, which will help reduce unemployment.”

Additionally, Nana Agyei praised Dr. Bawumia’s introduction of credit scoring, which has helped formalize the economy. “This system allows individuals to make purchases on credit and pay later, as is common in many advanced countries,” he explained.

In conclusion, Nana Agyei urged “the good people of Ghana to rally behind the NPP in the upcoming elections.”
