Roads are our major problems in Manso – Manso Adubia MP, Hon Yaw Frimpong Cries

The Member of Parliament for Manso Adubia and Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, Hon Yaw Frimpong has addressed ongoing road infrastructure issues in his constituency; he stressed that roads are currently their primary challenge.

Speaking on Kessben FM’s Maakye program with Kwabena Owusu Dankwah, he noted that “50% to 60% of the roads in Manso Adubia are not all-weather roads,” making accessibility difficult during the rainy season.

The MP noted that inadequate road infrastructure has impacted the transportation of agricultural produce. Farmers in the Manso Adubia area struggle to reach markets due to the poor condition of roads

He shared that the issue of unmotorable roads prevented him from campaigning in over twenty communities during the 2020 elections, noting that these road conditions posed a substantial challenge to his campaign.

In describing the rainy season’s effect, he stated that the rains increase agricultural output but simultaneously render many roads impassable.

“Whenever it rains, we face two main challenges: increased agricultural produce and unmotorable roads,” he explained. This seasonal limitation restricts farmers and residents, limiting their access to markets and other essential locations.

The MP acknowledged the government’s efforts, pointing out that, for the first time, some roads in Manso Adubia have been tarred under the current administration.

He expressed gratitude to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government for these improvements but emphasized that additional work is needed to make all roads accessible.

While he recognized the government’s ongoing commitment to improving infrastructure, he stressed that a substantial percentage of roads still require urgent attention.

However, he expressed optimism with the implementation of the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP), and now that the rainy season has ended, DRIP will allow work to commence on these deteriorated roads, which is expected to ease traffic for farmers and passers.

In his closing remarks, he encouraged the people of Manso Adubia to support the NPP government to ensure that all the roads that have been given to contractors are completed.
