UPSA graduates 5,274 students as new lecture hall named after Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA ) has graduated a total of 5,274 students at four out of five sessions on 28th October and 1st of November, 2024 comprising of 906 post graduates, 3,711 under graduates and 630 diploma students.

The graduating students of the second section comprises of 18 PhD students, 33 Master of Philosophy students, 652 Master of Business Administration Students,116 Masters of Arts students and 87 Masters of Science Students were among the 5,247 students to complete their studies this year.

Earlier, the occasion was also used to commission a three story lecture hall of the law school named after the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum for his unwavering commitment towards the successful completion of the educational complex

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) has stated that the Vice Chancellor Professor Abednego F.O Amartey second term and final term will end om 31st December, 2024 as Prof. John Kwaku Mensah Mawutor, Pro Vice Chancellor will take over the respected position.

It further noted that, Prof. Koryoe Amin Wright also retires from her position as University Registrar on 1st April, 2024 upon reaching the compulsory retirement age as Mrs. Lorraine B. Gyan stepping in as the new Registrar.

Both have served with dedication, hardwork and commitment their respective positions in academia and administration with a sound track record that has propel UPSA to greater heights.

Speaking at the 2nd section of the graduation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of UPSA, Professor Abednego F.O. Amartey said in 2024/2025 academic year have introduced four new programmes and includes Master of Science in Information Systems, Master of Philosophy in Information Systems, Doctor of Philosophy in Finance, adding that GTEC have also approved Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary
Studies, Logistics and Transport Management.

Touching on academic rankings, the Vice-Chancellor said the university was ranked 4th Locally and have also penetrated the global ranking between 801 and 1000.

For his part, the Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum said “this is the first educational lecture hall named after him at the tertiary level, saying he is proud to be associated with the UPSA brand, he said with joy.

He congratulated the Vice Chancellor for his vision in putting up massive infrastructure projects under his tenure and urged others VCs to emulate similar initiatives in their respective universities
