Every Child Under 18 to Receive 500 Cedis Monthly Under My Leadership – Mr. Kofi Akpaloo Promises
Mr. Kofi Akpaloo, the Founder and Flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) has emphasized that every child in Ghana below 18 years would receive 500 Cedis every month if he is elected as the president of Ghana.
In an interview with Kwame Appiah Kubi on Kessben Maakye, Mr. Kofi explained that this initiative called the Child Benefit payment, is aimed at supporting parents, especially mothers, in taking care of their children.
He emphasized that this child benefit is a key part of his campaign policy, “A Better Tomorrow: A New Plan for Wealth and Creation.”
He highlighted that Ghanaian law prohibits children under 18 from working, yet these children still need to eat and are considered the property of the country. His policy seeks to address this issue.
He stated and I quote, “Every child in Ghana below 18 years will be paid 500 Cedis monthly, but twins will receive 750 Cedis each.”
Moreover, Mr. Akpaloo estimated that 7 billion Ghana Cedis would be allocated monthly for this project, totaling 84 billion Ghana Cedis annually. He assured Ghanaians that this is feasible because spending a Cedi in the economy multiplies its value 24 times, thus stimulating economic growth.
He also mentioned that obtaining the funds would not be difficult. He explained that spending money on children circulates money within the economy, although the funds will not come in bulk.
Lastly, he concluded by urging Ghanaians to vote for him in the upcoming election, which is 33 days away.
