2 Influencers passed away while taking selfies on boat as they refused to wear Life jacket
Tragically, two Beatriz Tavares da Silva Faria, 27, and Aline Tamara Moreira de Amorim, 37, perished when their crowded boat was struck by seas and sank off the coast of Brazil.
Police said that while snapping selfies on board, the influencers had refused to put on life jackets.
“Some didn’t want to put them on because they were taking selfies.
“They said that they get in the way of their tanning.
The boat’s captain, who survived the tragic accident, stated that he was instructed to transport six influencers back to shore, despite his boat’s maximum capacity being five passengers.
The survivors include Vanessa Audrey da Silva, Camila Alves de Carvalho, Daniel Goncalves Ferreira, Gabriela Santos Lima, and Natan Cardoso Soares da Silva.
Narrating the ordeal, one of the survovors, Vanessa said: “There was a moment in the water when no one could see anyone. I was fighting for life.
Another survivor said: “There were very strong waves, we almost died. We didn’t know how to swim.
“I knew that I couldn’t take it for long. I hurt my foot and swallowed a lot of water.
“We threw ourselves into the rocks.’
