Vacant seats controversy: Speaker adjourns sitting indefinitely

Due to the debate surrounding vacant seats, Speaker of the House Alban Bagbin has adjourned the session.

In a House full of NDC lawmakers who had previously held the majority position, this decision was taken.

A dispute with the opposition, which had taken over their seats, had caused the NPP MPs to leave earlier.

Francis-Xavier Sosu and the Speaker agreed during the brief sessions that the record should be changed to show that the NPP group was the minority on Thursday when they left.

Alexander Afenyo-Markin, the MP for Effutu, led the NPP MPs out of the chamber earlier, stating that they were withdrawing to their offices to await instructions from Speaker Alban Sumana Bagbin on the next steps.
