GETFund Unveils Monitoring Software to Improve Educational Infrastructure
The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has launched advanced monitoring software to enhance the quality and timeliness of educational infrastructure projects across the country. The announcement was made during the 2024 GETFund Stakeholders Forum held in Accra, under the theme: “Supporting the Delivery of Quality Education: The Impact of GETFund on Contemporary Education.”
Richard Boadu, the Administrator of GETFund, emphasized the need for stricter oversight, citing previous challenges where inadequate monitoring led to subpar project quality and delays. “We’ve recognized the gaps in our previous systems, and it’s time for change,” Boadu stated.
The new software will ensure that all GETFund projects meet high standards and are completed on time. Additionally, GETFund has restructured its operations by establishing dedicated offices in Kumasi, Accra, and the Northern Sector to focus on localized project oversight and improve accountability.
Boadu also revealed a significant policy shift, ending the practice of allowing contractors to handle multiple projects simultaneously, a move designed to prevent delays and ensure better project management.
With GHS 61.5 billion secured under the current administration for over 11,500 ongoing and new projects, GETFund is poised to improve educational infrastructure and promote quality education throughout Ghana. Boadu reiterated their commitment to delivering excellent educational facilities, marking a new era of accountability and efficiency.
