Kennedy Osei Nyarko writes: My opinion on Ghana’s economy
For those saying things have become expensive this days so therefore Ghanaians should vote against the NPP. You may be right with your call but what they failed to tell Ghanaians is how much Mr. Mahama and his NDC are going to reduce prices of these items in the market.
Is Mr. Mahama and his NDC going to reduce cement price to 50.00?
Is Mr. Mahama and his NDC going to bring down the dollar exchange rate to 10.00?
Is Mr. Mahama going to reduce fuel price to 10.00 per gallon?
Is Mr. Mahama going to bring inflation rate down to 10% or less?
In 2008 cement was sold in the market for not more than 8.00
In 2008 dollar was sold for 1.10p
In 2008 a gallon of Petrol was sold for less than 4.00
Yet the NDC and some session of the public made noise about this and voted against the NPP at the expense of all progress that this country made under President Kufuor and the NPP Government.
Today we are back again with the same 2008 attitudes and are doing everything possible to push the NPP Government out of power.
If you are a Ghanaian voter and you cannot convince yourself that
Mr. Mahama and the NDC are going to reduce cement price to 50.00 or dollar rate to 10.00 and also bring down petrol price to 10.00 then you are only embarking on a fruitless journey which will not bring any better results to you in the end but rather compound or exacerbate your situation to the worst.
Globally things have become very expensive and nothing is going to change anytime soon so let’s manage our expectations.
Those who travel around the globe will appreciate my position better.
