I have clear strategy on how to curb rising food prices – Mahama

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has outlined his strategy to curb rising food prices in the country.

In a Facebook post, the former president expressed confidence in his approach, stating, “I am clear in my mind about what needs to be done to halt the daily increase in the price of food and other essential commodities, which is a result of the economic mismanagement by the Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government.”

He emphasized the need to alleviate the hardships faced by Ghanaians, calling for a return to the days of price stability.

As outlined in the Resetting Ghana manifesto, Mahama highlighted several key interventions aimed at resetting the economy and preparing it for growth. Among the measures are: Scrapping six draconian taxes, Reforming the unjust VAT system, Applying the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy on fuel, Launching a special pension scheme, Rolling out a “Big Push” policy with a 10 billion cedi investment.
