Obuasi Methodist Primary School Holds 4th Graduation Ceremony

A graduation ceremony has been held for some pupils of the Obuasi Methodist primary school in the Obuasi Municipality.
The event which took place on the premises of the school celebrated the achievements and transition of the pupils in primary six and KG 2 to the next stage of their academic life.

The graduation was attended by parents, staff of the school and notable guest which included Nana Ofin Dwomah member of Akrokerri Traditional council, Nana Afia Darkowaa Sika Koffekrom Obaapanin, Rev. Felix Tawiah Korankye Danquah, PTA Chairman, SMC Chairman, and many others
In their welcome address, the headteachers of the Obuasi Methodist Primary, Madam Theresah Boadi and Mr Kwadwo Adu-Boahen said the school has chalked a lot of successes in recent times, a feet they said was down to the dedication and hardwork of the teachers of the school.

They congratulated the pupils who were transitioning from primary 6 to junior high school as well as those moving from KG to primary 1. They were encouraged to take their studies seriously and be punctual in school.

Rev. Felix Tawiah Korankye Danquah, the Local Manager of the school who is also the Synod Secretary of Obuasi of the Methodist Church Ghana in his speech referenced a statement made by the 35th President of America John F Kennedy who said Children are the world’s most valuable resource and its best hope for the future.”

He also admonished parents to invest in their children to secure a good future for them. Other speakers also advised parents to take massive responsibilities for their children’s well-being. They also encouraged parents to monitor the educational progress of their wards and maintain harmonious relationship with teachers.

Handing over ceremony
The graduation ceremony also witnessed the handing over of leadership responsibilities from the outgoing school prefects to the incoming school prefects of the school.

Blessing Adu Sakyi, who read the speech on behalf of the outgoing school prefect, highlighted the achievements and challenges they have faced during their tenure. She said the school emerged champion for Obuasi Diocese Methodist school competition and placing 3rd in the Ashanti Region Methodist Schools held in Kumasi.
These accomplishments he said underscores their relentless pursuit of academic excellence and determination. With the challenges, she mentioned lack of proper canteen, rampant stealing of electrical cables of the school.
Florence Boadu who represented the incoming prefects mentioned that their primary goal is to build on the achievements of their predecessors and address the conditions affecting the school.
She called for the support of the authorities of the school and parents to navigate through ways to address those challenges.

AWARDS
Certificates were awarded to all graduating students with special recognition given to top performance.
Jenel Ofori and Richlove Mensah who placed 3rd in the Regional Reading Competition organised for Methodist Schools were also presented with awards.
