“Ghana’s Digital Leap: Education and Communication Ministries Launch GKSB Portal”
The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Ministry of Communications and Digitalisation, launched the Ghana Knowledge and Skills Bank (GKSB) Portal today at the Accra Digital Centre.
The new online platform, supported by the World Bank, aims to provide students across the country with enhanced learning resources and exam preparation tools.
Speaking at the launch, Minister of Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, highlighted the importance of the portal in helping students better prepare for exams.
According to him, the GKSB portal offers past exam questions that students can answer online, with the system automatically marking and grading their responses.
He emphasized that the platform’s artificial intelligence (AI) feature provides students with support similar to that of a teacher, making it easier for them to study independently.
He advised that, students need to recap past questions when preparing for exams. The AI system on the GKSB portal will not only mark and grade students’ work, but it will also provide guidance, so there is no need for a teacher to be present.
He further noted that the platform aims to boost academic performance across the country.
Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Minister for Communications and Digitalisation, also shared insights on how the portal complements the government’s ongoing efforts to improve digital learning.
She pointed out that the GKSB portal is integrated with the tablets distributed to students and supported by the establishment of computer laboratories across the country for both Senior High School (SHS) and Junior High School (JHS) students.
According to her, this government has made learning more exciting and accessible for students. Whether you are in a Grade A or Grade D school, as long as you have internet access, you can use the GKSB portal. Learning every subject has become easier.
She also mentioned that approved textbooks from the Ghana Education Service (GES) can be accessed on the portal.
