Mahama scores Bawumia ‘F’ in economic management
John Dramani Mahama has responded to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s comment that says he has performed excellently as Vice President and deserves a promotion.
The Vice President and running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Bawumia, in one of his campaign tours indicated that he has performed creditably and deserved to be rewarded by Ghanaians by being elevated to the presidency.
The comments, is what John Mahama says is out of place. The former President says no one writes an exam and marks himself, but rather leaves it for others to do so.
According to him, the Vice President’s performance on the economy is a failure which is evident for all Ghanaians. So, giving himself a distinction is not normal practice.
Speaking with constituents of Bortsianor Ngleshi Amanfrom Sunday, September 16, 2024, as part of his phase two tour of the Greater Accra region, John Mahama said he always allowed the public to judge when it came to his performance during his time as President.
“When you write an exam you let somebody mark you. You don’t mark yourself. That’s why when I was President people ask me ‘how do you find your performance?’ I say it’s for the people of Ghana to decide. And so you should give your performance for the people of Ghana to decide.
“Recently, I heard the flag bearer of the NPP, the Vice President, saying that he has performed excellently as Vice President so they should promote him to President and I said I don’t know who marked his script, and whether he marked it himself, but I can tell him that when it comes to his performance, the mark that the people of Ghana will give him for management of the economy is ‘F’, fail,” Mahama stated.
