Napo Calls on Christians to Play Active Role in Shaping Country’s Leadership

Vice-Presidential Candidate of the NPP, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has asked Christians to deepen their interest in the political leadership of the country. This, according to Dr. Prempeh would contribute to sustaining the moral compass of the country.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the 13th Biennial Conference and celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Methodist Men Fellowships at the KNUST on Saturday 14th September, 2024, Dr. Prempeh said it is one of the key ways of ensuring Ghana remains on track morally.

Anchoring his assertions on the word of God as found in Proverbs 29:2, Dr. Prempeh asked Christians to pray for a leader with humility, integrity and a good heart towards humanity.

Dr. Prempeh further said in this season of growth toward Christian maturity, it is essential that Ghanaians continue to promote religious tolerance and understanding. “As Christians, we are called to be peacemakers and to live in harmony with all people” he said.

He asked the church to pray for the peace and sustenance of Ghana before, during and after the December general elections. He also asked them to openly codemn incendiary comments aimed at jeopardising the peace and stability of the country.
