Wassa Obama donates campaign resources to Amenfi West NPP

Dr Joseph Kwadwo Danquah (Assistant Professor of Human Capital Development, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship), popularly known as Wassa Obama, has donated resources to support the New Patriotic Party (NPP) activities in the Amenfi West Constituency of the Western Region. The party stalwart, an indigene of the constituency, donated the items to the party through the constituency chairman, in a short ceremony at Asankrangwa.

The UK-based university professor has been supporting the party in various ways, including mobilising the base to register in the electoral commission’s voter registration exercise ahead of the 2024 general elections. He is always seen in the company of party executives and the parliamentary candidate, whipping up support for the NPP in the constituency. His deep involvement in party campaigns since 2012 has helped the NPP to increase presidential and parliamentary votes from 39.9% in 2012 to 47.3% in 2020.

“Looking at the voting patterns since 1996, the NPP are increasing votes and I’m convinced that with rigorous campaign and hard work, we shall win the December 2024 elections. My commitment is to the party, working to secure victory. This is why I am supporting the party with these campaign resources”, Wassa Obama said during the donation.

He charged all party enthusiasts to go all out and campaign for Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa, the parliamentary candidate, and Dr. Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the NPP.

The donated items included party paraphernalia such as aprons, posters, banners, and party T-shirts with the photo of the parliamentary candidate embossed.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Constituency campaign team, the NPP Constituency Chairman, Obed Asamoa praised Professor Danqauh’s initiative and continued support for the party, especially at the constituency level. “The party is grateful to you, Prof, for your continued support. These resources have come at a crucial time when we need them to run an effective campaign to win the December elections for the NPP. We are grateful to you”, he commented.

Not only does the Professor of Human Capital Development do politics, but he also engages in philanthropy. He has been helping the constituents in social development and supporting the human development agenda of the constituency. Using his connection, Wassa Obama has assisted over twenty indigenes of Wassa to study abroad.

Expressing his gratitude for the donation, Mr. Afrifa, who represents a fresh face with new ideas going into the parliamentary elections, thanked Professor Danquah for his gesture and asked other well-meaning constituents to come on board with more logistics to facilitate the campaign.

“Prof., I know this is not the first time you are helping the party; you have done a lot for the elephant family, and we are grateful for that. Please continue with your good work,” the Mr Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa ( Parliamentary Candidate) said in appreciation.
