Nii Noi Nortey Asks Traders at Odawna Market to Vote Massively For the N.P.P for Continued Progress
Speaking yesterday at an outdoor event at the Odawna Market in Accra, which was part of the ongoing campaign tour by the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (N.P.P), the 2024 parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle constituency Valentino Nii Noi Nortey, cautioned the crowd of traders and passersby about voting for the National Democratic Congress (N.D.C) in the coming December elections. He warned that the N.D.Cs presidential candidate John Dramani Mahama, had only one more term should he win; since he had been a president before and so, would not be truly committed to fulfilling his promises. Therefore, he advised the crowd to vote massively for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the N.P.P since he had more time because he hadn’t been a president before.
The N.P.P parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle constituency Valentino Nii Noi Nortey described former president John Mahama as a ‘risky investment’ and a contradiction his own words. “With the coming elections, remember that the other person (John Mahama – N.D.C) has only one more term (4 years) if he wins. He is the same person who told us that 4 years is not enough to run an effective government. So, my question is, what is he going to do with the remaining four years that he is fighting for? But, if Dr. Bawumia is elected, he can go for two terms and so, this will give us a chance to access him on the promises he is making today; when he comes to seek our votes again for the second term. But the other man (John Mahama – N.D.C) will not return to you if he wins. So, let’s really think about that”, he explained.
Valentino Nii Noi Nortey emphasized the need for voters to remember the challenges faced during the N.D.C led administration and be appreciative of the relief brought them by the incumbent N.P.P led government. “On December 7th, two people will be contesting the elections, our former president and our current vice – president. One ruled and we weren’t happy with his governance. For instance, today, we would have required at least 3 generators to have this programme because our lights would have been out by now. Also, do you remember those times when your child in Senior High school could be sacked for not paying his or her school fees? But today, Free S.H.S has stopped that and become a common thing that some people have even forgotten that it was a particular government that thought about this and implemented it … President Nana Akufo Addo’s government has done it”, he said.
Finally, the 2024 parliamentary candidate for Klottey Korle Valentino Nii Noi Nortey asked fellow N.P.P members and sympathizers to vote massively for the N.P.P come December 7th. “Please, on December 7th, we want you to put in your best because we don’t want to win with a small margin but, a very big one”, he said.
At the Odawna rally were very important names from the New Patriotic Party including the Vice – President of Ghana and Flag Bearer of the N.P.P Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, former Member of Parliament Nana Akomea, Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya Adwoa Safo, former National Secretary (N.P.P) Kwabena Agyapong, amongst others.
