Mahama expresses concern about accuracy of voter register

The flagbearer of the Nation Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has expressed serious concerns about the accuracy of the voter register set to be used in the upcoming December 7 general election.

His remarks come in the wake of the Electoral Commission’s seven-day Voter Exhibition exercise, which concluded on Tuesday, August 27th.

Mr. Mahama pointed out several discrepancies in the register that he believes need urgent attention from the EC.

According to him, some registered voters have been transferred to different polling stations without their knowledge, while others have reported missing names from the register.

Speaking on the second day of his Greater Accra “Resetting Ghana” campaign tour, Mr. Mahama addressed supporters at Adjen Kotoku in the Amasaman Constituency, stressing that the NDC is committed to ensuring that the right procedures are followed.

He urged the Electoral Commission to correct these errors in the voter register before election day.

Mr. Mahama further emphasized that the NDC is a peace-loving party dedicated to maintaining peace before, during, and after the elections.

However, he firmly stated that the NDC will not tolerate any attempts to cheat them in the election, just as they do not intend to cheat any other party.
