NLA’S downfall is because of KGL – Mr. Kwaku Antwi Boadu

Mr. Kweku Antwi Boadu, a former National Organizer for the Lotto Marketing Companies has said that the primary culprit for NLA’s downfall is KGL Technologies. In his words, he stated boldly: “All of NLA’s downfall is due to KGL“

Mr. Kweku Antwi Boadu provided an in-depth look into how KGL’s involvement with the NLA led to its challenges. “KGL is called KGL Technologies. They came as a collaborator in 2019 with their game.

It’s called Lucky Three. So they were given their shortcode. When they came as Lucky Three, the public didn’t patronize it. They then joined NLA’s *590 games,” Mr. Antwi Boadu explained on Kessben Maakye.

The *590 games, which are reserved for the NLA and the Lottery Fund Committee (LFC) according to ACT 722, became a major issue when KGL began selling them.. This move, according to Mr. Antwi Boadu, was a significant misstep that caused the NLA’s decline in sales.

The situation worsened when the contract with KGL was solidified in March 2020, just after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. “That is where NLA’s business started going down,” Mr. Antwi Boadu stated, noting that the NLA was unable to pay out winnings that was generated from the end of March.

KGL’s prompt payments satisfied customers, leading them to stop patronizing the NLA. As Mr. Antwi Boadu put it, “They receive all the gross and pay their winners the same day when they receive the monies. So people were not patronizing the NLA again.”

The issues with KGL didn’t stop there. To try and salvage the situation, the then-director of the NLA, Mr. Ameyaw, introduced a new point-of-sale terminal system, but this too fell under KGL’s control.

Despite attempts to rectify the situation, including replacing Mr. Ameyaw with Mr. Sammy Awuku as director, the problems persisted. As Mr. Antwi Boadu put it bluntly, “All of NLA’s downfall is due to KGL.”

Mr. Antwi Boadu’s comments reveal the harmful relationship between the NLA and KGL Technologies. He shows how a once-successful national institution has been weakened by poor management and questionable partnerships.

Now, any activity or project by the NLA is, as Mr. Antwi Boadu says, “financed by KGL,” which raises serious concerns about the NLA’s future independence and survival.
