“If match organization is common, what has happened to your SWAG cup’ – GHALCA Chairman Kudjoe Fiano jabs sports journalists
The Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Kudjoe Fiano has taken a swipe at sports journalists following heavy criticism of GHALCA by the section of the sports journalists.
According to the sports journalists, the GHALCA top 4 has lost its relevance over the years and things ought to be done right by the leaders at GHALCA.
The once revered off-season tournament in Ghana, the GHALCA top 4 competition is not now played among the 4 top placed clubs of the previously ended season.
This has raised a lot of bashing to the organizers of the competition but Kudjoe Fiano, the Chairman of GHALCA speaking on Kessben TV noted that the organizers must even be commended for still having the GHALCA top 4 tourney in section every year due to the heightening challenges they are faced with.
“We have challenges and for the tournament to even come up every year is something commendable. We only got the green light to play this tournament at the New TnA stadium on Thursday and we had to arrange for the club to ensure it started on Sunday. If match organization was common, what has happened to your Sports Writers Association (SWAG) cup?” He said.
This year’s GHALCA top 4 features Eleven Wise, a lower tie club, Nations FC, Bechem United, and host Medeama.
