Just In: Kwesi Appiah asked to step aside – Details
Asante Kotoko IMC member and Ghana Football Association Executive Committee member Dr Kwesi was asked to step aside from a GFA executive meeting on Tuesday by the executive council of the football Association according to a report filed by Kessben Sports.
Dr. Kwesi Appiah who also doubles as the head coach of the Sudanese National Football agreed to recuse himself from discussions that were in relation to Ghana’s preparation for the Morocco AFCON 2025 double-tier qualify games in a few weeks time.
Sudan and Ghana are in the same group with Niger and Angola for the AFCON qualifies. Kwesi Appiah after stepping out from the discussions related to the AFCON-qualify games at the GFA EXCO meeting later joined his colleagues.
The former Ghana Black Stars coach has been contemplating of resigning from being an EXCO member following his appointment as the Sudanese National Football Team head coach early this year.
After Yesterday’s meeting where he recused, a couple of advice have been offered to him by some top hierarchy of the football fraternity to quit the EXCO.
