2 Ghanaian FIFA referees retired from refereeing because they had info that names were to be removed from the FIFA list – Seidu Bomison reveals
Ghana Football Association’s Referees instructor, Seidu Bomison has divulged why 2 Ghanaian FIFA referees had to call it a quit from refereeing.
The two Ghanaian referees Abdul Latif Qadir and Joyce Appiah Benewaa shook the entire nation after they confirmed that they have retired from Refeereing despite being recognized by FIFA not too long ago.
Though their ages were not close to the retirement age of refereeing, (45) both did shock the entire nation with their early retirement,
RAG instructor Seidu Bomison speaking on Kessben FM’s Midfield Action with Joe Laka divulged that according to the information he had received, both apparently had information that they were going to be expelled from the FIFA list which informed their decision to quit.
“The retirement age is 45 years for referees. For Latif, I spoke with him and he said it is personal. From further checks, they were not getting games and also heard that they were going to be removed from the FIFA list so they resigned and retired” He said.
