Mahama Alleges Agyapadie Document is Genuine, Accuses Government of State Capture

Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has made shocking allegations against the current government led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Mahama claims that the controversial Agyapadie document, which the government has dismissed as a fabrication, is in fact a genuine blueprint for state capture.

Speaking at a durbar with chiefs and queen mothers at the Bawku Naba Palace in the Upper East Region as part of his campaign tour, Mahama insisted that the document details an elaborate plan by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to seize state assets and amass wealth for themselves. He alleged that the government has been implementing the plans outlined in the document, despite denying its authenticity.

“The Agyapadie document is not fabricated,” Mahama said. “Everything written in that document has been implemented. They said it was fabricated, but the implementation is not fabricated. They are buying every state property, buying all government lands, and amassing wealth for themselves.”

Mahama accused the government of subjecting Ghanaians to hardship and crisis over the last eight years, and vowed that the NDC would hold them accountable. “We will need to hold this government accountable for the hardship, the crisis that they subjected Ghana to, for the state capture that they have implemented in Ghana over the last eight years,” he said.

The Agyapadie document has been at the center of controversy in recent weeks, with the government denying its existence and dismissing it as a fabrication designed to tarnish President Akufo-Addo’s reputation. However, Mahama’s allegations suggest that the document may be more than just a fabrication, and that its plans are being implemented by the government.

This development has significant implications for the upcoming elections, as Mahama’s allegations are likely to fuel further debate and controversy about the government’s integrity and accountability. As the campaign season heats up, Ghanaians will be watching closely to see how the government responds to these allegations, and whether Mahama’s claims will gain traction with voters.
