Construction of Asantehene’s funded Kotoko Sports Complex begins today
On Thursday, July 25, 2024, a project has started to transform the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club’s Adako Jachie training complex into a cutting-edge establishment worthy of the Club of Century.
The entire funding for this project comes from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, King of the Asante Kingdom, who also serves as the club’s life patron and is located in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region.
The club declared on Wednesday that it will take place in stages under the name “THE KING’S PROJECT.”
“We are delighted to announce the commencement of the transformation of Adako Jachie into a state-of-the-art training facility.
“This ambitious project, fully funded by His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, will be executed in multiple phases. Today marks the beginning of Phase One.”
The project started in October 2020 and was supposed to be almost finished by October 2022. Its first phase featured a 30-bed dormitory, a technical block, a medical block, a player’s block, and a leisure area.
