Man caught in a bid to sell his brother’s daughter for GHC150,000 to obtain Canadian Visa (Video)

In an attempt to obtain a visa to Canada, 30-year-old Nana Kofi Amofa, also known as Kofi Yesu, was detained by the Central East Regional Police Intelligence Unit (PID) while trying to sell his senior brother’s 6-year-old daughter for GHC 150,000.

According to a report filed by Mireku Nyanpong on Kessben FM’s Breaking News, around 10:00 p.m. Tuesday, the suspect was taken into custody in Gomoa Buduburam, which is close to Obolo estate.

Police say they sent men after receiving information that the suspect had stated a wish to sell the six-year-old child (name withheld) in order to raise the necessary funds to fly to Canada. This led to the suspect’s arrest.

According to sources, a man who expressed interest in purchasing the victim was hired by police intelligence unit officers as a buyer. During their communication, the suspect allegedly requested GHC150,000.
