“Forgotten Community: Residents of Old Buipe Cry Out for Attention”
The electorates of the Old Buipe Electoral Area in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region have expressed their deep frustration and disappointment over the lack of essential social amenities in their community. At a press conference held in Old Buipe, residents lamented the neglect they have suffered for far too long, citing the absence of good roads, adequate healthcare, quality educational infrastructure, and reliable telecommunication networks.
Old Buipe, a town steeped in history and significance as the final resting place of Ndewura Sumaila Jakpa Dingoro, the founder of the Gonjaland Kingdom, is ironically facing numerous challenges that threaten the well-being and safety of its residents. The deplorable state of roads in the electoral area has become a major concern, leaving residents vulnerable to armed robbery attacks.
Mahama Tanko, the convener of the press conference, emphasized the urgent need for improved telecommunication networks and healthcare infrastructure. The residents’ pleas come as a call to action, urging authorities to address the long-standing neglect and work towards providing the necessary amenities to improve their quality of life.
