“Damongowura Yakubu Gbeadesi Advises Politicians to Focus on Public Service, Not Chieftaincy Ambitions”

The Paramount Chief of the Damongo Traditional Area has cautioned politicians to refrain from interfering in the protracted chieftaincy tussle to allow the Judiciary committee of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs to expedite justice in the litigation before it.

His Royal Majesty Damongowura Yakubu Imoro Gbeadese I made this statement known during a press conference to ensure peace and unity prevails in the traditional area.

Since his enskinment in 2016 by the late Yagbonwura Tutumba Boresa I, Damongowura Yakubu Imoro Gbeadese I has worked tirelessly to maintain peaceful co existence in the traditional area.

However his efforts have been thwarted by a chieftaincy tussle which has been exacerbated by political interference and the current Yagbonwura’s involvement.

The Paramount Chief warned that such interference is obstructing the Judiciary Committee’s ability to expedite justice and called on all parties to allow the committee to pass judgment without hindrance.
He emphasized that the dispute should be resolved through the legal channel conferred on the judiciary committee rather than political manipulation.

Damongowura Yakubu Imoro Gbeadese I accused the current Yagbonwura of bias in the dispute, as he is a defendant in the case. Despite this, the Paramount Chief expressed his commitment to accept the outcome of the litigation, regardless of whether it is in his favor or not.

The press conference was a call to action for all parties involved to prioritize peace and unity in the traditional area.
