“Your Cards Have Been Renewed Already” … Valentino Nii Noi Nortey Assures
The N.P.P Parliamentary Candidate for Klottey Korle constituency Valentino Nii Noi Nortey has stated that all the ‘Nii Noi Nortey Health Cards’ which were issued last year, have been renewed for another year. This will therefore, continue to provide free emergency health care to card holders for another year. He added that, the card will be renewed annually to help decrease the burden of medical expenses on the people; and this was the main purpose for its implementation. He said this in a phone interview yesterday from his office in Accra.
Valentino Nii Noi Nortey explained that the ‘Valentino Nii Noi Nortey Health Cards’ are indeed here to stay and not a one-off project, hence its annual renewal policy. “Yes, it will be renewed every year. It has even been renewed in the system already. So, they can even use it after the expiry date on the card and it will still work. But, right now, we are working on issuing new cards to them with new dates to help facilitate the process”, he explained.
Further explaining his motivation and vision for introducing the nouvelle health insurance initiative in Klottey Korle, Valentino Nii Noi Nortey said his motivation is far beyond politics and described it as more of a national and patriotic cause. “These are issues of life and death and so, I get fulfilled anytime we are able to save a life. Almost 6,000 people have registered for my health card currently, and the target this year is 60,000… My vision is to make health care the uttermost priority, and also advocate for the expansion of the already great N.H.I.S (National Health Insurance Scheme) to cover more. Health is wealth and we must take it seriously”, he said.
According to a document provided by the administrators of the ‘Valentino Nii Noi Nortey Health Cards’ Ace Insurance, the V.N.N.N Health Card has absorbed medical bills to a sum of Ghc 114,000 in April this year. Another beneficiaries’ list released last month revealed total claims paid by the ‘V.N.N.N Health Card’ in May at Ghc 303,125.05.
The ‘Valentino Nii Noi Nortey Health Card’ was introduced in 2023 as a result of numerous appeals and requests made to Valentino Nii Noi Nortey for financial aid by many residents of Klottey Korle, in securing health care and the payment of outstanding medical bills. The ‘Valentino Nii Noi Nortey Health Card’ is currently being accepted by many medical institutions in Accra and provides for a variety of medical expenses from surgical operations to scans and the purchase of medicines.
