“Frema Opare is the Unifying Choice for Running Mate – Ahafo NPP Chairman”
The Ahafo Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Owusu Sekyere, has told Dr. Bawumia not to consider Dr. Matthew Opoku or Dr. Yaw Adutwum as his running mate since there is serious tension between the two men.
Selecting any of the two, would lead to serious consequences and affect the fortunes of the party in the Ashanti region since there is serious tension between the two men.
“Our brothers who have shown enthusiasm towards the running mate position possess the qualities undoubtedly but this is not the time. We need a united front because there’s tension between the two of them if we are to be honest”, he said as he indirectly talked about the frosty relationship between the Energy Minister and Education Minister.
As President, Bawumia would need peace to rule the nation and must settle on Frema Opare in Chairman Owusu Sekyere’s view.
“The President needs peace just as former President Kufuor had his peace of mind after electing Aliu Mahama as his running mate, and President Akufo-Addo did with Dr Bawumia who has displayed humility throughout, earning him the position of the flagbearer”, he said.
Strength of Frema Opare
Speaking to media, the Ahafo Regional Chairman of the NPP stated that: This woman was very instrumental when it came to running of President Akufo Addo campaign which she exhibited that in 2016 and 2020.
CEOs and MPs in Ashanti Region can attest to that fact, as well as her contribution in 2016 and 2020 in Ashanti Region. Left to me, lets take that position to the people of Ashanti Region and hand it over to a woman.
I can assure him that Maame Fremah Akosua Osei Opare will give him the peace of mind to act on his word to deliver to Ghanaians, and achieve his set target.
