Learn a vocation, avoid fornication – Lordina Mahama tells single ladies

Former First Lady Lordina John Dramani Mahama delivered timeless advice to young women attending a singles camp meeting, urging them to embrace their singleness as an opportunity for personal and spiritual growth.

Serving as the special guest of honour at the 2024 Young Singles Camp Meeting of the Assemblies of God Church at the AGGAR Retreat and Resort Centre in Shai Hills, Mrs. Mahama emphasised the importance of cherishing this phase of life.

Encouraging the young women to use their singleness to nurture their dreams and aspirations before entering into marriage, Mrs. Mahama stressed the significance of building individual capacities.

As a certified counsellor, she highlighted the value of pursuing education, acquiring vocational skills, and striving to reach one’s full potential.

Mrs. Mahama also underscored the importance of personal care and appearance, urging young women to prioritise self-care and maintain a positive outlook.

She emphasised that self-care extends beyond physical appearance to nurturing one’s inner self and spiritual well-being through prayer and godly fellowship.

Furthermore, Mrs. Mahama cautioned against the pitfalls of youth, such as engaging in premarital sex, alcoholism, drug abuse, and adopting an indecent lifestyle.

She urged the young women to resist peer pressure, uphold self-discipline, and prioritise godliness in their lives.

In recognition of her generosity and maternal guidance to the youth of the church and the nation, the leadership of the Young Single Group presented Mrs Mahama with a citation.
