Ghanaian Students Sweep Top Awards At 2023 WAEC International Excellence Awards

Ghana celebrates a remarkable achievement as three outstanding Senior High School graduates clinch the top three awards at the just-ended 2023 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) International Excellence Awards. The ceremony, held during the 72nd Annual Council Meeting in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on Tuesday, 19th March 2024, marks a significant history for Ghana’s educational landscape.

The award winners are:

  1. Amo-Kodieh Leonard Kofi Marton, St James Seminary Senior High School (Overall Best Student).
  2. Dzandu Selorm, Labone Senior High School (Second place).
  3. Daniel Asenso-Gyambibi, St James Seminary Senior High School (Third place).

The International Excellence Awards for WASCCE for School Candidates honour the highest levels of academic achievement, recognising the overall best candidates from member countries participating in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), including the Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Ghana.
