Heal Komfo Anokye Project: Roof works completed, 60% of funds raised — Otumfuo Inspects

Renovations are currently underway at Ghana’s second-largest teaching hospital, which needed $10 million to be restored, three months after the “Heal Komfo Anokye Fund” was established.

The roofing have been finished with sixty percent of the monies raised so far.

“We haven’t had a single leak in any of the wards since the previous rainstorm. We are currently destroying the A4 and A5 wards after moving on from the roofing work. Samuel Adu Boakye, Chairman of the Heal Komfo Anokye Fund Committee, revealed during the Asantehene’s inspection of the work in progress, “We are doing the renovation work in faces because the hospital is still in session due to space concerns.”

The Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital is finding it difficult to offer a comfortable and therapeutic atmosphere because of the deteriorating quality of the four traditional blocks, even though it receives referrals from 12 of Ghana’s 16 regions.

In November 2023, the Asantehene established the “Heal Komfo Anokye Fund” in response to repeated requests for the facility’s condition to be improved.

After being shown around the workflow by Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer of KATH, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II seems content with the job completed thus far.

A secure and therapeutic atmosphere will be provided by the restored facility thanks to the “Heal Komfo Anokye” project, which will be implemented in May 2024 as part of Asantehene’s 25th anniversary legacy projects.
