Nasiru Mohammed joins Finnish side Ekenas IF
Former captain of Ghana’s U-17 team the Black Starlets Nasiru Mohammed has made a switch in his club career following his move from Swedish 3rd tier side Trollhatan to Finnish top tier side Ekenas IF.
The 29 year old left Sweden after his contact expired with the 3rd tier side. A move to Finnish top tier side is an elevation in football career.
The striker began his club football career in Europe in Sweden when he moved to BK Hackem from a 3rd tier Ghanaian side Rainbow FC in 2012 after he captained the Black Starlets in 2011.
Nasiru Mohammed moved to Levski Sofia in Bulgaria after 7 years with BK Hackem. From there he has been with Norrby IF and Trollhatan all in Swedish lower tier.
In the international level, Nasiru Mohammed has captained Ghana in U-17 in 2011 and also with U-20 in 2013. The former captain of the Black Starlets received a call up from then Black Stars Coach Kwesi Appiah in 2017 during the World Cup 2018 qualifier against Egypt in Cape Coast where Ghana drew 1:1 with the North African side at Cape Coast Stadium.
