NPP Primaries: 1st runner-up at Sekyere East declares to run as an independent candidate after “Girigogo” election
Sylvester Fofie, former NPP Parliamentary aspirant for Afigya Sekyere East in the Ashanti region has officially declared his intention to contest for the Afigya Sekeyere seat on an independent ticket during the 2024 General elections.
This follows after he emerged second to the incumbent MP, Mavis Nkansah Boadu during the 27th January Primaries held.
According to Papa Sly, the events leading to the election led to manipulations of the votes which affected his chances to win.
Addressing the press on Thursday, Papa Sly alleged that some of the delegates had received money from his competitor amid some curses that forced them to vote for the incumbent.
He added that after he wins the seat as an independent candidate, he will declare his allegiance back to the NPP.
