First Sky Group Initiate Steps To Set Up Kidney Transplant Centre
The First Sky Group have held it’s 21st annual thanksgiving service with the group desire and commitment to support the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to establish a kidney transplant Centre set to be completed by the end of 2024.
Speaking on the theme “The Faithfulness of the Lord Never Ceases”, from Lamentation 3:22 – 23, the Executive Chairman of the Group, Mr. Eric Seddy Kutortse said the Group have supported the hospital with free dialysis as close to 300 patients have benefited in that regard.
According to him, a whopping sum of Ghc32 million have been spent on patients since the group took over the medical bill of patients in 2016 and explained that there is the need to set a legislative instrument to encourage the establishment of a sustainable kidney transplant center in the country “A draft statement for discussions and deliberation have been put up and under the able supervision of the Ministry of Health (MOH) by organ transplantation experts,” he said adding that the process of finalizing the draft is been spearheaded by the First Sky Group in collaboration with Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.
Turning the spotlight on church planting in the country, the Executive Chairman said the Group promised to undertake the construction and completion of three (3) Ultra-modern church auditoriums in the Tema, Volta and Ashante regions as fervent preparations are under way for construction works.
Throwing more light on the Group vision and mission, he said management is working tirelessly to create job opportunities particularly for the Youth as well as exhibiting Christian virtues and values in reaching out to the youth across the country.
In addition, to create wealth to support God’s Kingdom business and men of God, bring relief to humanity including the poor and needy as well as to ensure that the well fare of management, staff and families. He therefore called for a peaceful free and fair elections as the nation approached the December general elections.
The Head of the Renal Unit at the Korle-Bu teaching Hospital, Prof. Vincent Boima called on corporate bodies to come to the aid of Kidney patients and urged all to emulate the slimming example of the Group.
Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo in a sermon urged Christians to be steadfast in the period of trials saying such challenges are temporal in the lives of humanity.
For his part, the Deputy Chief Staff, Mr. Adumua – Bossman who represented the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo commended the Group for its commitment in job creation and urged other bodies to exhibit the work of the Group to support the economy.
