Official: Kotoko extends Justice Blay’s contract – Details
Asante Kotoko and Justice Blay have agreed to a new deal that will keep Blay with the team through January 2025.
Blay made 25 appearances for Kotoko during his initial loan period in 2019–2020, scoring two goals and providing three assists. The defensive mainstay’s steady efforts quickly made him a fan favorite. However, a permanent move for him couldn’t materialize due to his previous parent club’s inability to negotiate an agreement with Kotoko.
After obtaining a permanent move in 2022 and winning the Premier League, the hard-tackling and tireless midfield player has now made 49 appearances in his two tenure.
Blay, a defensive midfielder by trade, has made eight appearances while fitting into Ogum’s three-back formation.
The existing contract, which is 31 years old, was set to expire at the end of the month, but it has been extended for an additional year with the option to renew for an additional year.
