OFFICIAL: Abdul Fatawu Safiu returns to Kotoko on a two-year deal
Abdul Fatawu Safiu has officially signed with Asante Kotoko, with a deal that expires in January 2026.
The 2019 best player and top scorer of the NC’S special tournament returns following periods with Trelleborgs FF and FC Trollhättan of Sweden.
In sixteen games during the 2018–2019 season, Safiu made his debut for his boyhood club, scoring thirteen goals, including some spectacular goals in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Coach Prosper Narteh hopes to secure a return to the CAF Champions League, and part of that goal includes getting the forward back.
“I am very excited about this opportunity,” he said.
“Everyone knows Kotoko is the club that I support and as a youngster it was my dream to play for Kotoko and to get that opportunity twice makes me feel lucky and ready to do everything to help the team.” He told the club’s media.
