Inaki Williams opens multi-million dollar San Mames Hotel in Ghana’s Eastern Region
Inaki Williams, a forward for Athletic Bilbao and Ghana, has formally opened his San Mames Hotel in Ghana.
In Ghana’s Eastern Region, Inaki Williams inaugurates the multimillion dollar San Mames Hotel.
The football player started building the hotel in his Eastern Region hometown of Akyem Achaise last year.
Williams’ hotel was officially opened this past weekend, despite the fact that he is presently training with the Black Stars in anticipation of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The hotel was officially opened with a brief ceremony that was attended by religious and traditional leaders, as well as members of the Williams family.
Among the top-notch amenities at the San Mames Hotel is a chic rooftop bar with stunning views.
Among other amenities, it has a well-appointed gym and well-designed basic rooms for a comfortable stay.
The Estadio San Mames, the home field of Williams’ team Athletic Bilbao, is the inspiration for the name of his hotel in Ghana.
“Today a new challenge begins. From now on, I will defend Ghana’s T-Shirt with all my will whilst I give my best. I am one of the Black Stars,” he said in an announcement video.
“But I wasn’t born or raised there, my culture is here, and there are players who would mean more. I don’t think it would be right to take the place of someone who really deserves to go and feels Ghana 100%.”
After making an appearance at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the 29-year-old will be playing for Ghana in the 2023 AFCON for the second time.
Williams announced in July 2022 that he was ready to play for the Black Stars after converting from Spanish to Ghanaian citizenship.
