WNR: Festus Bumakama Agyapong Files Nomination To Contest Sefwi Wiawso NPP Seat
New Patriotic Party ( NPP) delegates within the Sefwi Wiawso constituency in the Western North Region has thrown their unflinching support and have decided to vote massively for Festus Bumakama Agyapong in the upcoming npp parliamentary primaries to retain the seat in 2024.
Festus Bumakama Agyapong , a native of Sefwi Wiawso and a Ghanaian based Mining Engineer Professional has won the hearts of the teeming youth within the Sefwi Wiawso constituency notably the NPP delegates who believes he can use his influence to create job opportunities for them ( the youth )
According to the NPP delegates in the Sefwi Wiawso constituency who spoke with the press, Festus Bumakama Agyapong is very sociable , humble, affable and respectful who has won the hearts of many including floating voters in the constituency.
Delegates further hinted that the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo since in 2017 assumption of office has brought developments to Sefwi Wiawso which the electorates will attest to the fact but the NPP needs someone as a very youthful and energetic young man like Festus Bumakama Agyapong, ( Buma ) as he is affectionately called to maintain the parliamentary seat in 2024.
The NPP delegates in Sefwi Wiawso further disclosed to this reporter that majority of the teeming NPP faithfuls, sympathisers as well as the youth want the current member of parliament changed to be replaced with someone who is down to the earth and thinks much about the wellbeing of the youth including someone who have the lobbying skills to secure employment opportunities to the youth and its ” Buma ” they are rooting for.
The delegates further stressed that the Sefwi Wiawso NPP parliamentary seat could only be maintained in the next general elections if the current member of parliament is changed .
Information gathered from the Sefwi Wiawso constituency revealed that Festus Bumakama Agyapong, Buma , in October last month during the 21 days Limited Voters Registration Exercises organised by the Electoral Commission nationwide, Festus Bumakama Agyapong through his own funds provided free food , drinks and transportation in and out to those who have attained the age of 18 years the opportunity to register at the municipal EC office in Sefwi Wiawso in a period of 21 days .
Barely a couple of weeks ago, over 700 NPP delegates within the Sefwi Wiawso constituency clad in NPP colours and T- shirts and placards with various inscriptions such as ” Buma ” our next hope , No Buma no vote in 2024 , Buma is the best choice of NPP delegates, Buma all the way amongst other inscriptions that welcomed Festus Bumakama Agyapong to the 2023 Annual Elluo Festival grounds in Sefwi Wiawso.
Similar placards inscriptions carried by teeming npp delegates, sympathisers and faithfuls were also seen during a grand durbar of chiefs and people from all walks of life to witness the climax of the 2023 Elluo Festival which His Excellency the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo was the special guest of honour. Constituency chairman, secretary, organiser and other officials were present during the filing process.
