Voting underway across Ghana to elect assembly and unit committee members

Nationwide voting is currently taking place to choose members of assembly and unit committees. There are an astounding 66,000 people competing in the local polls. There are 66,257 candidates altogether, 18,755 for assembly members and 47,502 for unit committee members, according to data from the Electoral Commission.

There are 6,215 electoral areas spread over 216 Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in this election.
